Iconic thread if it is iconic in yours eyes post the shot and a few words please

If you're driving a Civic, I guess you'll be parking elsewhere.
Well Jeff the place is like Monaco nuts, Ferraris are ten a penny and among the cheaper cars around, the rolls suv had a diamond encrusted headlining

I had the pleasure of staying walking distance from the Casino years ago on a work trip. An interesting place, to be sure.

Another UK icon, the Kingfisher.
I don't know that the UK gets to claim the Common Kingfisher since it is found in all of Europe through all of SE Asia.

Castillo San Felipe del Morro or the fort that guards the San Juan harbor in Puerto Rico. This is a fairly common feature of old Spanish forts but I don't think other areas use this nearly as often as PR does.

Then you may also see this lighthouse which was added to the fort after the US took over.

Not claiming it, but it's our only Kingfisher, and in UK wildlife circles it has always been iconic. The star of many greetings cards and book covers, and it always evokes an emotional response. That's enough to make it iconic.

I see both sides of the question but as thread brief if the poster believes it iconic to them then it is, comments welcome but the poster decides, and hoping we can play nicely on this thread

Sagrada Familia, probably the most iconic building in Barcelona. I used to live nearby and give it for granted, so didn't pay attention on the way to the subway. Now whenever I visit the area I take pictures like any tourist.

One of the main reasons that we decided to purchase our house last year was the views. At around 400m above the sea we can see for miles, unless the fog rolls in then it's down to a few meters at times. A few days ago a low blanket of mist was swirling around the trees so I grabbed a quick shot. It's certainly iconic for us and we haven't tired of it yet.

It's just a church that has been more than 100 years in the build, because it's privately funded so they can only keep building if they have the money from the revenue. And because the original architect is dead and he didn't draw accurate blueprints, the plan has been changing through the years in style and materials... If you visit it please make sure to buy tickets on time as its interior is much more beautiful and luminous than you could imagine from the outside.

I have some shots of the inside my Daughter took on her Olympus a couple of years ago, and you are right the inside is amazing, I always visit cathedrals and the like when traveling as the construction interests me, I just have not had time to visit when there it is on the list and will be ticked soon for sure would have been next month but plans have changed for now

I think this is iconic as it is the only Paddle Steamer and not a paddleboat that is run with diesel here in my home town but I think in Victoria.
This is the Paddle Steamer Melbourne.

I wish they'd shift that bloody crane! It's been there forever.

I wish they'd shift that bloody crane! It's been there forever.

The construction is slated to end on 2026, to commemorate the 100 years after the death of Gaudi. Then the cranes will be missed haha.

The battleship New Jersey BB-62. The Big J was the 2nd of the Iowa class Battleships. It severed in the Pacific during WW2 and also during Korea and Vietnam and during all of that it became the most decorated battleship of the US Navy. Today it serves as a museum on the Camden, New Jersy waterfront.

Sadly I do not have the skill as photographer to do justice to the spectacular view which is the Ngorongoro crater and the awe one experiences when first seeing it. My attempt falls woefully short, but rest assured, this is an iconic place to visit.

Really iconic. Loving that first panoramic shot.

I was in Greece for the first time past year and now I'm wishing to return sometime soon.
Thanks Alex I will be back to Santorini very soon, the Greek islands are very relaxing (y)

Sunset on Mauna Kea, Hawaii. Tallest mountain on earth, 32,696 ft or 6.2 miles. Wish I had taken more and better photos.
