Birds Kalij Pheasant

I was recently in Hawaii on the big island. I always visit Hakalau forest for the endemic Hawaiian birds. This is one of the only places you will see them due to the mosquitos and avian malaria wiping them out at lower elevations. This year I was surprised to see Kalij pheasants there, I've always seen them at lower elevations. Very striking birds.

Great clarity in this shot and you can see each feather as if it was a photo on it own.
