Being a shooter of mostly indoor sports and needing a shutter speed of at least 1/1000, I always have to shoot wide open and with an ISO around 3200 to 6400. Last night I was at a gym that was poorly lit, had a deep yellow hue to the flooring and had all sorts of COVID restrictions so I could not get in position to get good shots. No way I was going to have a pro level shoot. So just for giggles, I thought I would take the plunge and try an ISO of 12800...which I have never dared try for some unknown reason. With some processing in post (LR only) I was surprised that the images were quite usable! Do I dare go even higher? What’s your high ISO experience?
