Hey All,
For those of you who are paying members here you might be glad to know that the new yearly recurring membership price is dropping from $30 to $10. Yep, unlike Netflix it's going down not up
I've been trialing the reduced membership fee over on the Canon forum that I run and this appears to be working well, hence implementing the change here.
If you have a recurring PayPal subscription then I have just updated the payments to $10, so your next payment should be for the new amount (hopefully). But if there are any issues please let me know.
I've also renamed the paid membership option from Site Supporter back to Pro Member which we were originally using here up until about 18 months ago when the change was implemented. Pretty much from day one the number of memberships dropped by around 50 percent after this change. I've been using Pro Member over on my Canon forum where it continues to work a lot better, hence the change back.
I don't know why the name has such an impact on the number of people taking this up, I guess this is why flickr has stuck with Pro for their paid membership option.
If I recall, one of the reasons we decided on the change was because Pro Member was confusing. So to try and avert this confusion I'll make it a lot clearer throughout the site as to exactly what this includes.
