They were, but then they got the light from the harbour side.

Excellent image, with good leading lines.....did you track the milky way position on "photopills" software before going to the location or do you live around the area and this was how the milky way was positioned on the night.....??

I don't see much evidence of coma.......were you at 20mm prime or other...?

Or was the foreground and sky photographed separately as I know is often the case for astro Images......
