Since we don't have a motocross thread and I've been shooting at my local track a little recently I thought I may as well start one.

Just a few recent shots. I do need to work more on my panning and playing around with some different angles as well.

The boss? You mean the wife? :ROFLMAO: I'm surprised no one has mentioned the R5 before, it's been there a while now. Although it's no secret as I've mentioned it in a few posts and I post images to my Instagram (once in a blue moon) with the R5 too. I've had it for almost 3 years already :) Mainly because I run another forum for RF Shooters but also because I don't want to be labelled as a Sony Fanboy :) I enjoy all camera tech so I like to play with other models. If I had the money and the time I'd run a Nikon site as well. I quite like the R5. It feels nice in my hands without having to add a grip extension and the AF works better than my Sony's for perched birds but not as well as the A1 for birds in flight. The 100-500 is a great lens but I'd prefer that it was an internal zoom like the 200-600 and about £1000 cheaper.

Great where you’ve captured the face of the rider Tim.

Cheers Clint! Didn't I read in another thread that you ride or used to ride motocross?

Correct mate. Since I could walk basically. I have what is now a small scar on my neck from hitting a barbed wire fence when I was 4, that scar was huge for years, 20 stitches on a 4 year olds neck! I've had three knee constructions amongst many other injuries over the years. My body still goes hard but! ✅

Barbed wire is nasty stuff! Tons of it around here and on our farm. We removed it all from our garden fence when we moved in as we knew it was only a matter of time before the kids climbed over the fence or the dog tried to jump it. I'm glad I only road for fun on the farm when younger otherwise I'd probably have a lot more injuries than I do now. Sounds like you are a tough cookie though! 🍪

Cheers Guy! Yeah I like it when they are using clear visors so that the eyes are visible, or they have simply removed them due to too much mud :)

We do not look at your Instagram Tim we are too busy keeping this place going 🤣 I cant believe you bought cannon, just looked at the RF site looks a bit calm compared to here, canon! I can not get my head round that

Then I might need to put it in the T&C’s here that all members need to follow me on Instagram or face an instant ban 🤣 The RF forum was started a couple of years after this forum. It’s growing slowly as more Canon shooters move to mirrorless. Not planning to buy a Canon anytime soon then Gary! 🤣

To be honest I have played around with the r5 a guy has I bump into when walking sometimes, its ok but I never rated cannon before mirrorless and that lens 100-500 the r5 guy has, its no match for the 200-600, yes its cheap and it shows for me at least. So they are starting to make Some Sony choices look questionable now so never say never I guess, if the long awaited a9iii is a bust who knows
