New EU Drone Rules

Hi All

New regulations about drones, am I correct in thinking that if you own a mavic mini they are essentially saying their are no restrictions on where you can fly, in terms of distance to the public?

I think a lot of it comes down to flying it safely and in areas that aren't forbidden. If you're genuinely capturing footage in a way that doesn't put the public in danger, the chances of the authorities coming down hard on you are minimal to be honest.

I will be visiting Scotland in August, and the temptation is strong to bring a drone. But then again, I do not want to be that guy that causes an incident by flying in ignorance.

With those views, like you said, temptation will most probably get the better of you. Out in the highlands in the vast scenery, I doubt anyone would bother or even notice.

Honestly mate, I wouldn't bother worrying. Get the drone in the air and enjoy the incredible views. I fly my drone is both the countryside and built up areas ( being careful of course ) and if anything, people are intrigued rather than upset or angry.

That was good! the light fog really enhanced the "abandoned" theme!
