Hi I’m Neil
Have used Sony for several years now and recently upgraded my A7riii to A7rV and have 5 Sony lenses. I am mainly a wildlife and animal (zoos and wildlife parks) photographer.
I’m currently very frustrated with my recent purchase and updating firmware to accommodate my much loved 100-400mm GM lens and 200-600mm. As an Apple laptop user and something of a computer numpty I’m tearing what few hairs I have left out - and hoping someone can point me in the right direction…..

Welcome Neil and thanks for joining up here. Which firmware is currently on your a7R V? v2.00 is the latest. You'll only need to update if it's still running v1.00. You basically just download the firmware update and place this is the root directory of a memory card. Then insert this into slot 1 of your a7R V and make sure the battery is fully charged. Then just navigate to Menu → Setup → Setup Option → Version and select Software Update.
