I'm very new to video, but given the capabilities of the A7Riv and A1, I want to learn more.
My cameras are set for PAL, and only offers frame rates of 25, 50 and 100fps. I assume that when the camera is set to NTSC (I haven't tried this) it will offer 24, 30, 60 and 120fps, so that in both cases the frame rates are integer multiples or submultiples of the matching television frame rates.
As it happens I don't use the camera to play back through a television (in fact, I don't have one). Is there any other reason to favour either the PAL or NTSC setting? It seems to me that the NTSC settings offer a little more flexibility and expressive power, as well as a potential 5x normal speed option, rather than 4x for PAL. What do other owners in PAL TV areas do? I'd be interested to know any advantages and drawbacks of using the "wrong" setting.
