Theme

For this month the theme is food. If you need some help with inspiration then head over to our Food Challenge Thread. Images don't need to be limited to what's on your plate, but could include images of food halls, street vendors, people eating at restaurants, animals eating their prey, or as one of our submissions shows, Bugs Bunny eating a carrot graffitied on a wall.

Shot Taken Date
Only submit images taken during the current and previous two months. The metadata including date must be included in the uploaded image.

What Do I Get if I Win?
I'm afraid now it's just the joy of taking park, but I will look into adding a special profile banner to winners profiles. In the past there have been vouchers for 1st and 2nd places, but we want to try and encourage people to enter without dangling a voucher code in front of them. Let's see if there's much of an impact this month!

So, unlike most, I decided to go with some actual food on my table, about to be consumed. Have been experimenting with food photography for a while now and finding it quite a challenging genre to try and master.

Taken on a bucket list photo safari to Africa. Visited three parks in South Africa and Botswana. This was taken at Sabi Sabi in South Africa. The leopard is enjoying lunch about 20 feet up in a tree. Those guys are strong and are great climbers.

A big thanks to everyone who entered and voted in this months competition. It took a while to get going but we had a nice selection of entries in the end.

1st place with 8 votes was @Penners with a wonderful shot of food being prepared in a Tudor kitchen during a re-enactment event at Kentwell Hall in Suffolk, England.
Also in joint 1st with 8 votes was @etiennescamera with a deliciously looking meal ready to be devoured. It makes my mouth water just looking at it!
In 2nd with 6 votes was @Paul stuart with a pair of spotted flycatchers. It looks like mum or dad feeding their little one. Nicely captured Paul.
3rd place with 4 votes was @Alan Clark with a very different but completely valid take on our food theme, with Bugs Bunny enjoying his favourite meal.

Well done everyone and thanks again for taking the time to enter.

November is here tomorrow and I'll be kicking off our After Dark Theme in the morning.
