for sure Clint you have an eye for the natural looking shots (y)

It means a lot that you say that mate. I've always tried to make my images look like a slightly amped rendition of what I seen at the time. This feedback from someone like yourself is highly appreciated. 🙂

Second shot possibly one of my favourite little birds the stonechat

I like this sunset and glad I took it because the shot I wanted with the boat silhouetted was destroyed by the lady who moved right in front of me as the boat moved into position. The most frustrating part was that about it was that just as I was taking this shot she asked if she was in the way. Guess I should have said yes.

Final race of this version of the C8R and final race for the Corvette factory team. Creating this effect was a pain even with the improved "smart" select tool.

I make a calendar every year for friends and family so as I process shots through the year a copy of ones I like end up in a "For calendar consideration" folder.

Spent this week looking back, it’s made me realise I need to get some storage and a pc of some sort more than ever. Looks like I’m losing my pictures to social media to keep my phone memory alive 😅

Here’s my best shot at what I got that I like the most from my phone storage 🤦‍♂🫣

Trying to engage and be more active on here is one of my objectives too!

Keep up the good work all who deliver this forum and keep it going 👍

Since seeing this thread posted, I have been thinking hard about my three favourite shots from the past year. Really not easy to decide and two of these are probably not my best, but they have special meaning for me (I may have posted some of these before elsewhere on this forum):

My dogs on the beach. We really enjoy beach outings with them and the pure joy they experience, when getting the opportunity to run free on the beach, is something to behold. For this shot we managed to get them to stay still for about 5 seconds, just long enough to compose and shoot, and only after they had run themselves to exhaustion.

20230422-DSC07580.jpg
  • ILCE-9M2
  • E 35-150mm F2.0-F2.8 A058
  • 82.0 mm
  • ƒ/2.8
  • 1/1000 sec
  • ISO 100

My next one I regard as one of my best photos of the year, but also one that I had to really work hard for, since it required me to get up before 5am and trudge up a hill with my camera and tripod in the dark. I love astrophotography, but really wish it could be done in my normal waking hours 😆

  • FE 14mm F1.8 GM
  • 14.0 mm

  • 13 sec
  • ISO 4000

The third one is special for me because of my passion for African Wild Dogs. This may not be technically a good photo, but the feeling and emotion it evokes in me makes it one of my favourites.
