Nice lighting here (what’s your setup?). And very nice detail on the petals of the flower. Well done.
 
Do you use a backdrop, or mask out your background in editing software?
 
I don't use any backdrop or mask out the background/image. I have always believed that the photograph presented or shot should be completely untouched. That way it retains what the lens actually saw. Of course, I, only now, am able to practically interpret my vision albeit I am total newbie.

I take the pictures against various wall in my home using study lamps.
