What is the best way to wirelessly operate my A7riv to shoot video from a short distance away , want to try and get some slo mo footage of wildlife from my hide ?. I have the Sony remote which triggers the camera shutter for stills but not sure about starting video operation . Any help would be appreciated

My cheap IR remote (JJC rm-s1) has 3 buttons: shutter, 2s delay shutter, start/stop recording. It works from a few meters away (5 to 10 depending on situation)
I might be a simple option for you to start with.

You could try using Imaging Edge Mobile if you have an Android or iPhone: https://imagingedge.sony.net/en-us/ie-mobile.html

Otherwise if you'd prefer not to use your mobile then I'm using the Sony RMT-P1BT. It uses bluetooth and works up to around 18m away. There's the older RMT-DSLR2 remote as well but it's IR and doesn't work that great outdoors at all.

Thanks Tim , I have literally only just started dabbling in a bit of video and didn't realise the Sony remote did both stills and video with the button the side
