Taken a while but these are quite incredible. They mate for life but after doing the deed they separate and go their own way.
When breeding season is back they some how make it back together and then do it all over again..
Giving birth to live babies who are independent straight away.
If one of the pair is killed I think the other will wait for a while then give up and move on to find another mate.
I am posting this shot as I don't seem to be able to get them to do this for me. So I need someone else to make this happen.
I think they know I mean them no harm even when I pick them up. So I got a friend to move their hand infront of it to do this.
They grow to about 15 inches give or take a little and We have had them as pets.
Went I see a wild one I will pick it up and them let it go again, I blame my childhood on that part.
