I just bought a Smallrig table tripod for travel. Its legs are too loose so am returning for a refund. The only small tripods I've seen that make sense are the ones Mark Galer recommends ie the Leofoto MT-3 to MT-4 with extending legs. These are very expensive... Can anyone recommend a similar one? I've looked but can't find any other brand that uses their type of design.

I'm not a tripod user, but Sirui seems like it might be decent at reasonable price.

Also... I remember watching a video that compared and ranked small tripods. I have no idea how to find it now, other than trying to ask youtube the right search question. Worth a try.

I have a small Sirui tripod, they are really good, but maybe more tripod than you need. If you only need the legs, you can get something like this https://www.amazon.se/dp/B0792P1BQZ?th=1 and put a head you already own on it.
That is almost identical to the Smallrig. The other problem with the Smallrig (and this one) is there are no click-in positions for different angles for the legs so it's frustrating setting it up anything like level.
