Nice! It's a bit ironic that I have some almost identical shots taken about 50 years ago with a Nikonas 3 on Heron Island (Great Barrier Reef).

Thanks. This leads to a few interesting discussion points:
1. Just how good the Nikonos 3 camera was for its time
2. How much easier and more accessible the digital technology has made photography in our era.
3. Certain limitations imposed by the underwater environment are still pretty difficult to overcome, despite our modern technology.

Nikonas 3 was definitely the early teacher in my photographic journey. Flooded it twice and learned to strip and clean it and get it operational again. Fully manual and used with a light meter, you set everything yourself including an estimation of focus distance!
Over time I also owned a Nikinos 4A and I still have a Nikonos 5 sitting on the shelf as an ornament amongst a collection of my other well used gear.

Yes, those new to photography don't know just how good we have it these days. I used to process my own 35 mm colour slides so it only took 24 hours to see a result but before that it took a fortnight! I love how you have it instantly on the back of the camera now.

Wonderful shots of these what I call nasty looking things.
