I updated with no problem to 4.0 firmware

I tried few experiments with the new function, but it seems I 'm not  going anywhere

I use a Macro 70mm, aperture mode, F22 and the standard Bracket focus-3 shots and manual focus

My first photo and the other 2 are exactly the same, with no difference in focus as I would expect

Once they are merged using Affinity photo I don't see any difference form the merged one and the original

If I go manual , no bracketing, I can change the focus and then merge the two or three shots and I see some results

Is my bracketing focus not working as it should or am I  missing something in the process?
