Sony FE 24mm F2.8 G, FE 40mm F2.5 G and FE 50mm F2.5 G Announced

Sony has just announced 3 new lenses:

• Sony FE 24mm F2.8 G
• Sony FE 40mm F2.5 G
• Sony FE 50mm F2.5 G

All three lenses will cost $599 (US) / £630 / €700 each and be available in April in Europe and May in the US.

Those lenses are going to be very attractive for A7C owners due to size and price. 40 seems like a bit of an odd choice though. Maybe they didn't want to cannibalize sales of their existing 35mm.

Very nice lenses for the A7c, but pricing is very ambitious...700€ for a tiny compagnon...wow.

But ok lets wait for the real world reviews and a price drop.

I admit that I find It is strange that in the Sony line the highest resolving APS-C is the full frame A7Riv.

I actually like the 40mm FL and have done for years going back to film days. More recently have used 40mm Summicron and Minolta CL versions on various A7RII/III so have been hoping for a decent AF 40 for some time. Did try the Batis and while liking the output found it a little on the bulky side. I will watch the 40mm 2.5 with interest in the reviews.
