Rumor has it this will be about $800 USD and have some sort of image stabilization. I'm excited! I'm thinking to replace my 18-135 kit lens with this lens.
I know who is not excited: my accountant a.k.a. my wife

In an unexpected turn of events (a planned trip got cancelled) I had some funds free up and I placed my order for the Tamron 17-70. I'm pretty excited about it and plan to do the same thing I did when I got the Tamron 24: take a walk in the park with only this lens equipped and give myself a chance to learn the lens.

Too late to test it, but will take plenty of pictures over the next few days or on the weekend.
