This afternoon I shot a tennis match using my a7Rv and 100-400 GM and 70-200 GM OSS 2.

Did you use a tracking mode at all?

Yes, I set it to center fixed some and wide some. I did have some shots where it locked onto someone behind fence but overall it worked well.

Cool. I did wonder about background distractions, a common issue with some of the tracking modes.

I mainly had problems when I quickly switched from one side of the net to the other while shooting (I was shooting from between two courts between the nets of those courts.) I had no problems when I locked onto a player while serving or while waiting to receive a serve. I want to play more with setting up faces in tracking to see how that will work. I've been really happy with the auto focus, especially compared to the Pentax systems I've used in the past.

Ahh yes Pentax. If only they had a Sony or Canon AF system, and affordable 600mm lenses...

And mirrorless. Pentax is developing a new film camera. They've made the decision to stay out of mirrorless, it seems. If you want the same IQ as a K1, the A7RII and III have the same sensor.
Yeah, I used to shoot Pentax as you know. I'm a little surprised they think they can survive without going mirrorless. It will be a sad day when they fail.
