I decided to take on the self portrait project today. Got everything set up; lights, backdrop, camera on the tripod. Then it came time to get tethering going. I plugged the Tether Tools cable into my A7IV, using their little gizmo that hooks to one of the strap loops. Then I plugged the other end into my 14" MBP and launched Capture One. Registered the camera and I was off and running. That is, until about the fifth frame shot. It suddenly, and for no reason I could determine, started being. very erratic. Sometimes it would show up on the computer, sometimes it wouldn't. After about 10 minutes of troubleshooting, I gave up and unplugged it and moved on with the shoot. Anyone else struggle with tethering? Is there a solid, dependable solution?
