Long Time advid photographer (not professional). Yes I'm another Ni… defector, a lifetime with the brand but Sony is the leader in mirrorless so made the (HUGE to me) move . Last week. I packed up a huge box of $$$$ equipmen, sent off to trade for na all new Sony kit. Going with A1. I travel all over the world with my job and can't wait to bring the A1. I have already made some buying decesions based on info from this site. Looking forward to learning more.

Mark fro Texas

From Texas, too! I 'd love to hear what you bought and how it works out for you- I get my camera tomorrow a7c and feel a bit overwhelmed with the learning curve- wish I knew more about lenses an a breakdown of the uses/advantages to each. Hope to learn from everyone here- can't wait to see your travel pictures!

Yes the lens selections are overwhelming. I ordered the 200-600 immediately, the A1 is a super sports/bird camera so I it was a no brainer. I've always taken the majority of pics with the 24-70 2.8, I really want to go with the Sony GM but I know they are going to release a new version of it soon so I'm going to hold off on it. I'm down to the sigma 24-70 2.8 ART which gets great reviews. (I've never been a huge sigma fan, but this one seems to get great reviews), buttttt I'm reallllly leaning toward the Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM. If I go with the later then I can get the updated Sony 24-70 2.8, then add the latest 70-200 2.8 GMII. Then a couple primes for sure the 20 GM . BTW youtube has a ton of set-up videos. Good luck and let me know what you decide on len's.
