People The Last Night of the Proms ... Ever

As the saying goes, "When in Rome," I found myself at The Last Night of the Proms ... Ever. I'm sure our UK friends here will be familiar with it. I had no idea what I was going to see. It was a last-minute thing, so I had my camera and a couple of lenses in my backpack. These photos were taken with permission.

I took some photos to compare what I could get with the FE 50mm F1.2 GM to the FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS. These were taken from the second-row balcony. I didn't correct the colour balance. The stage was bathed in different colours at various times.

I rarely do people portraits, but this audience member had volunteered to participate in this show and later was the centre of much attention in the lobby. I asked, and she was more than willing to let me take her photo. Unfortunately, I still had the focus set to Center Fixed from the earlier.

She is as tall as she appears here. I had to coax and maneuver a bit to get these photos without other people in the background, but it wasn't ideal.

This is a famous event which ends an annual series of (mainly) classical concerts. The Last Night ends with everyone letting their hair down, with various patriotic pieces and the audience joining in. Worth looking for on Youtube if you are not familiar with it.
