Updating firmware a6500

How often do you do this?
Is there a blog or newsletter that alerts when a new update is available?

There isn't really a Firmware newsletter as such. Most of the time it's a once or twice a year thing, at the fastest.

Often time Firmware is a handy thing to update, other times, it can cause bugs, so always double-check the logs to make sure that you want it!

For the a6500, you can check Sony's site directly from here: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/e-mount-body-ilce-6000-series/ilce-6500/downloads

The last update is from May of 2019, so if you've updated in the past year, you're good!

Like Vorkell mentioned the last firmware update for the a6500 was back in May last year and this was version 1.06. So if you are already rocking this version all is good! I'll normally blog about firmware updates when they are made available here: https://www.alphashooters.com/ and now also drop a post in the News Forum.
