Upload photos question.

If you upload photos to your personal gallery, can some be posted to Main Gallery or to specific Posts later while still being retained in personal gallery?

If yes, how to embed in specific Post from the personal gallery?

PS - already read Tim's 3-bullet upload post. Not sure my was answered there.

It depends on your privacy settings for the album. If you have not restricted the album to only yourself, then members will be able to view the images under the main gallery, but they won't appear in the categories.

You can embed a gallery into a forum post by selecting the gallery embed button from the menu:

Yes Tim, very helpful. But a few more:
1. If I upload a dozen pics as Private, can I later change their status to "members only" and embed them in the appropriate posts?
2. In what instances can pics be downloaded by members (in order to determine which need watermarks)?
3. From initial Private status, how do I change/categorize them to specific areas like Nature, Portraits, etc?
4. Can specific pics be deleted from Gen and/or Priv gallery if we want to replace it with a better or more recent pic? If so, how.
5. Lastly, is there somewhere (post?) to get description of what all the forums icons mean? Like the chain link, circle arrow, mtn/moon square, etc. Some are familiar and obvious, while others are not. Thanks again.

The privacy settings are only at album level. You can change this later by going into your album and editing the privacy.

All pictures can be downloaded. There's not really an easy way to stop this unfortunately. If someone is determined to steal photos they will, even with watermarks on. I'd recommend just uploading a smaller resolution if you are concerned about this. The maximum upload resolution here is 2048px, anything larger will be automatically resized.

Albums whether private or not can't be categorised unfortunately. You basically create the category yourself when you name the album, so you might call one album "birds in flight" for example. If you go to the Gallery then Select Add Media, here you will see the option to categorize your uploads, but all images uploaded into these categories are public by default.

You can delete any photo and then just upload another one. When you open a photo you should see the delete option in the sidebar or below the photo.

Unfortunately I don't have a document with all the descriptions in. However, if you are using a desktop then you should be able to hover over the icons with the mouse pointer and a description should appear explaining what the icon means.
