What lens should I bring for macro trip?

I am going to national park where my main focus will be macro of insect using A7RV + 90mm. My question is should I bring Sony A7IV + Sony 100-400 along as a second setup for skittish subject, insect in flight, etc? (I will not shoot bird) I have to walk a very long distance so weight have to be abit low. Anyone hike/walk with 2 body and 3 lenses in the field?

I don't hike at all now, but I used to in my pre knackered knees days.

One of the reasons my knees are knackered is that I walked and ran carrying a lot of weight.

Only you know what you are likely to know what you want to photograph and what you're likely to see.

If you’re focus truly is macro and your bringing flash diffusers/lights, I’d pack one body and the Sony 90 (or Sigma 105 macro which is even sharper) and keep focused on macro.

Yup. The 100-400 is such a great lens and with the short minimum focus distance plus the A7Rv you can close enough to macro that it makes little difference.
