They are poaching photographers from Nikon at an alarming rate because Nikon are so far behind the curve it's ridiculous. They will rule the market for all time I think.

It is a great platform with great glass. Additionally Sony has muscled their way into news organisations as the house camera. AP is one bureau. No doubt the cameras, lenses and support are free. Sony gets the exposure - excuse the pun - and the bureau(s) get great cameras which perform so very well. And the exposure makes the camera more exciting to the ordinary folks like us who want a better chance of getting a good photo.
