I was very surprised to learn that there is no way to shoot 25 frames per second (which is the absolute standard in any European country) using the XAVC-HS codec. Only 50 and 100 FPS. It surprises me even more that in NTSC, it is possible to shoot 24, 30, 60 and 120 fps. I find it very hard to think of any reason why Sony does this. It seems to be with any Alpha Camera that supports XAVC-HS (at least the a7III, FX3, FX30).
Does anyone know or suspects something to be the reason for this? Or even better, know if this will be resolved? HS is the way I planned to shoot and it is a little disappointing that it is not possible because of such a weird quirk.
