Laowa has launched a new fully-manual full-frame 11mm F4.5 ultra-wide-angle lens for Sony E-mount along with Leica L and Nikon Z versions.
The ‘FF’ and ‘RL’ in the name of the lens refer to the lenses full-frame (FF) and rectilinear (RL) design.
The lens is constructed of 14 elements in 10 groups, including two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements, which results in a 126-degree angle of view on full-frame cameras.
There’s a 62mm front filter thread which gives this lens the title of ‘the world’s widest rectilinear lens with a front filter thread for full-frame mirrorless cameras.’
The aperture range is from F4.5-F22, there’s a five-blade aperture and a minimum focusing distance of 19cm (7.4”).
The lens measures 63.5mm (2.5”) long, 58mm (2.3”) wide and weighs in at 254g (8.9oz).
The Laowa 11mm f/4.5 FF RL lens is already available to purchase on Laowa’s website for $699.00.
