Lensbaby Announces the Velvet 28mm F2.5 Lens

Lensbaby have announced their latest lens, the Velvet 28mm F2.5.

It will be available in a range of different camera mounts including Sony E-mount for both full-frame and APS-C cameras.

This speciality lens adds a ‘velvety glow’ to images when shot wide open, but the effect becomes less pronounced as you step down.

The lens is constructed of eight elements in seven groups, features a 12-blade aperture, uses a 67mm front filter and also can capture 1:2 ratio macro images with a minimum focusing distance of 14cm (5.5”).

The Lensbaby Velvet 28mm F2.5 is already available to pre-order for around $550 / $519 and should be shipping very soon.
