Meike has announced its new 85mm f/1.8 manual focus lens for Sony full-frame E-mount cameras. No pricing or availability has been revealed yet, but the 85mm f/1.8 for Canon EF that does feature autofocus (a Meike first) costs less than $200.
The lens features a 9-blade circular aperture for smooth bokeh and a minimum focus distance of 2.8 feet (0.85m). There are 9 elements in 6 groups and a filter diameter of 67mm.
However, with no autofocus this may well deter a few portrait photographers especially those wanting to make use of Eye AF.
