One of our Sony a7R IV community members who recently updated to the latest Sony a7R IV firmware v1.20 has reported that his and several others Commlite Enf-1pro adapters for Nikon F-mount to Sony E-mount are no longer working correctly.
After installing the latest Sony a7R IV firmware v1.20 he discovered that the autofocus on all of his Nikon lenses mounted via the Commlite Enf-1pro adapter was focussing much slower in AF-C mode than before. He tested the Nikon 16-35 F4 24 f1.4 5070-200 f2.8V2 f.14 85 F1.4 105.F1.4 Sigma 35 f1.4 20 f1.4 50 f1.4 and had the same slow focussing issue with all lenses.
He reports to have shot at least 80k frames since last November with excellent results until upgrading the a7R IV firmware to v1.20.
He has reported this to Commlite because Sony will not accept responsibility for any issues with third-party accessories.
Unfortunately once you update the firmware there is no possibility to roll it back to the previous version. So if you are using the Commlite Enf-1pro adapter I’d strongly recommend not updating the firmware of the a7R IV to v1.20 until Commlite have released an updated firmware to address this issue.
Thanks for reporting this Stephen!

Has anybody heard from Commlite about a firmware update to the Enf-1pro Adapter ?
Thank you?

I’ve not heard anything I’m afraid Adam. One member of our Sony a7R IV Shooters Group did comment a while back that this adapter was no longer being developed, but I can’t confirm 100% if that’s the case.

I recently bought an Cm-Enf-e1 pro with firmware V08 that I believe is the latest version. However, I encountered problems of auto focus for all Nikon lenses. Anyone could provide a piece of advice for fixing the problem? thank you!

I would return it if you can. It doesn’t appear to have worked since firmware v1.20 for the a7RIV. Although I’ve not tested it the problems will probably affect the newer a7RIVA with firmware 1.0 as well. You might want to look at the MonsterAdapter LA-FE1
