Tamron Firmware Update for 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD Lens Adds Support for 120 FPS

Tamron has announced a new firmware update for its 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD lens that adds 120fps support to the Sony A9 III and also improves AF performance

With the Sony A9 III, when the focus mode is set to AF-S, DMF, or MF, the lens will now support continuous shooting at up to approximately 120 frames per second. Unfortunately unlike Sony’s first-party lenses AF-C is not supported at 120fps.

Additionally, the new firmware improves AF performance during zooming when shooting videos and still images in AF-C mode.
