Tamron has released a firmware update to address autofocus issues with their new and very popular 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A036) lens for Sony full-frame E-mount.
Firmware version 2 addresses the following issues in video shooting mode:
1.Autofocusing operation and loss of focus
2.Flicker on peripheral parts of the image when zooming
The update also appears to have fixed autofocus issues whilst shooting stills as well.
You can download the firmware update here.
If you are using MacOS 10.13 (High Sierra) then you will need the DriverLoader 1013 to install this firmware update, otherwise it will most likely fail. Full details are available on Sony’s website.
The 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD lens has certainly proven to be a very popular addition to the gear bag of many Alpha Shooters. With great reviews from all over the web, this lens is currently sold out in most camera stores.
