Tony Northrup has been testing the new Sony a6400 and believes that the new and improved real-time tracking and Eye AF system will drastically change how we shoot in the future.
The new focusing system in the a6400 and also coming soon to the Sony a9, a7R III, and a7 III via firmware update appears to take the autofocus system to the next level.
There has been a huge improvement in the Eye AF system which Tony claims is now 100% reliable. He also claims that subject tracking for sports although not 100% reliable is better than any other camera that they have tested, including the Nikon D5 and D500.
In his video you can see many examples of exactly how the Sony a6400, Sony a9, Sony a7R III, Sony a7 III, and Fujifilm X-T3 perform against each other.
Do you agree with Tony, is this another game changer from Sony?
