Venus Optics has announced 4 new manual focus Laowa branded lenses for Sony E-mount. Three of these lenses are full-frame and one APS-C. No pricing information or availability has been shared at this time, just the following specs.
Laowa CF 33mm F0.95 APO
The Laowa CF 33mm F0.95 APO lens is designed for APS-C cameras like the Sony a6400. It’s constructed of 14 elements in nine groups, including one aspherical element, one low-dispersion element and four high-refractive elements. There are nine aperture blades, a 62mm filter thread, and a minimum focusing distance of 35cm (14″).
The lens measures 71.5mm (2.81″) in diameter, 83mm (3.3”) long and weighs in at 590g (1.3lbs).
Laowa FF II Argus 35mm F0.95
The Laowa FF II Argus 35mm F0.95 lens is a full-frame lens constructed of 14 elements in 9 groups, including one aspherical element, one low-dispersion element and four high-refractive elements. There are 15 aperture blades, a 72mm filter thread, and a minimum focusing distance of 50cm (20″).
The lens measures 76.8mm (3”) in diameter, 103mm (4”) long and weighs in at 755g (1.66lbs).
Laowa FF II 45mm F0.95
The Laowa FF II 45mm F0.95 is a full-frame lens constructed of 13 elements in 9 groups, including one aspherical element, one low-dispersion element and one high-refractive element. There are 15 aperture blades, a 72mm front filter thread, and a minimum focusing distance of 50cm (20”).
The lens measures 76.8mm (3”) in diameter, 110mm (4.3”) long and weighs in at 850g (1.87lbs).
Laowa FF II 12–24mm F5.6 C-Dreamer Ultra-Wide Zoom
The Laowa FF II 12–24mm F5.6 C-Dreamer Ultra Wide Zoom is a full-frame lens constructed of 15 elements in 11 groups, including two aspherical elements and three low-dispersion elements. There are 5 aperture blades and a minimum focusing distance of 15cm (5.9”).
The lens measures 69.4mm (2.73”) in diameter, 74mm (2.91”) long and weighs in at 497g (1.1lbs).
