Viltrox has been pushing out some very good lenses recently with price tags that don’t require the selling of any body parts.
Their latest lens is the Viltrox AF 16mm F1.8 which is an autofocus lens designed for full-frame E-mount cameras.
The lens costs $549.00 US and will start shipping in July 2023. Pre-orders are already open.

The VILTROX AF 16mm F1.8 FE is constructed of 15 elements in 12 groups. There are three built-in aspheric lenses, a high-definition nano-multilayer coating and 4 ED lenses to effectively control dispersion, ghost and glare.
The lens adopts non-bulb design and has a 77mm front filter thread. There are 6 seals to help reduce the probability of dust getting into the lens.
One unique feature of this lens is the top LCD display which shows the following information:
- depth of field scale
- focus hold when activated
- AF/MF mode
- preset distance setting A/B
- focus distance
- aperture value
You’ll also find on the lens body a custom switch, a de-clickable aperture ring and an AF/MF switch.
