Love the rumor about Tamron 200-800mm f6.3 (?)
Great range for birding
Will replace my 200-600mm if it is:
1 ) affordable
2) can be used with a 1.4TC
3) has OIS
I'd even take a smaller 400-800mm f6.3 if offered
Whatdayathink?

I would as well! Very exciting information.

I think I read that it's a 5.6? Either way, lots of potential here. I find that I am almost always at 600, so i guess I would prefer a 600 prime for my work...but i cant afford the f/4 GM so I would be more than happy with a f/6.3.

I love the idea, and I guess Canon have pushed a few boundaries with the new lenses in their range, but I'll be surprised if it gets made. Tamron have patents for 300 2.8 and 600 f4 lenses for Nikon, but have never made one (sadly).

Would love to see one. I have a mix of lenses and it would be great to have a cheaper version then the Sony at that length.

I own one, and it stays mounted on the body. Haha. I do a lot of mixed photography and it works really well for my needs.

I would prefer the 200-400mm f4 tamron ,i think there was a patent for this one it would make a great do it all lens ,and would replace my 200-600mm

600 f5,6 or 800 f8 for me

Don't mind this as long as one can use the TCs on them , otherwise 400mm is a tad short for birds

might be interesting if it is a fixed 6.3 or ends at 6.3?
