Sony A7R IV A7R4 freezes while shooting

My new A7R4 tends to freeze when I am shooting and no button responds including auto focus. This happens when I have only shot about ten or so images. Is that normal or my unit is defective?

Try using different settings for your cards, like changing from simultaneous to jpeg for one and video for another. Try different cards.

Definitely not normal. It could be the card, but shouldn't be anything else.

Bought a new SanDisk card and the problem remains.

I am going to return this camera in the next few days. Trying to decide whether to stay with Sony or move to something else.

Two suggestions to try before you take it back is to verify the cards are high speed SD cards and finally doing a complete reset of the camera and try your first shots after reset without changing any settings using Auto mode.
