Indianapolis Zoo-The Birds

After the Botanical Gardens we ventured into the zoo. It was a pretty nice day weather wise and we went when they opened so a lot of the animals were out and active.

My favorites are the flamingos and the Eastern yellow-billed hornbill. I hate a love hate relationship with ostriches or as I call them murder birds. A bird shouldn't be that big, but yet there it is with all its attitude and aggressiveness. I fed one once at a roadside attraction in Arizona. It tried ripping my arm off just to eat the bird seed from a red Dixie cup. It even managed to throw the cup back at me when it finished!

I've seen them on TV! Those things are on a whole other level! I would love to photograph a Shoe-billed Stork.
