I have a 6400 and made the mistake of renting an a9ii for the weekend. This one of the photos, California Brown Pelican going for a landing.
And now I just bought an a9. It got me at bursts with no blackouts. Truly awesome camera!

I thought I knew what the endemic words meant and it was as I thought and this brings me to this.
The Little Wattlebird can and is also found on mainland Australia as well as Tassie.
I just thought that you should know this. But still is a good shot.

Thanks you are quite right, I confused it with the yellow wattlebird of Tasmania.

All good and the Yellow one is one I would love to get one day. Been to Tassie once but never seen it then.
So I would love to have a return trip to find a few more there like the cute 40 Spotted Pardalote.

My goal this winter is to get some images of short eared owls that I am content with. I am stunned by the tracking ability of the A1, and the weakest link is definitely me. The other thing I note is that the A1 has far, far better noise performance than my A7R4, which it replaced.

Spent a morning at https://raptorrescueplett.co.za being educated about the work they do. They receive sick and injured birds, try to rehabilitate as many as possible back into the wild (50-80% success rate), but some cannot be released again and become permanent residents. Some of the permanent residents are used to give flying displays.

Short Eared Owl Pleased with the outcome considering 1/500th it kind of worked for the first few images of take of,although once in full flight everything went pear shaped ,love the motion in the wings with a steely sharp face.

Short Eared Owl quatering the marshes decent sunangle for a change ,school boy error on my part i had my cam in crop mode ,i had been taking some video in crop and fogot to switchback which makes life easier on one term post processing but ,makes keeping subject in view finder less easy,i am sure i would of had more keepers otherwise especially when closer .
