Birds Great White Egret

At Minsmere yesterday 3 of these magnificent and huge Egrets were chasing other around the mere, and they came pretty close to the hide at times. It's not too many years ago (maybe 10) that these birds were a rare migrant here, but they now breed successfully and have spread far and wide. I did crank my shutter speed a bit too high so the later shots are at higher ISO than is ideal, or than I could have got away with. Thankfully is was bright but overcast, so no harsh light.

Yep, these guys, all Heron species in fact, just seem to trail the legs like this. I love the way they fold the claws in.
