Nice! Hard to tell at this stage, I'd be inclined to think Female as there is no orange around the head/neck, but it could just be that it's young. Good idea for a thread :)
Stunning detail! Very well done.

This Red-Tailed Hawk was taking some time before continuing the nest building. I believe I saw where the nest was being built so I hope upon returning from my trip that there will be a nest.

Barred Owl Pair - they typically choose cedar, fir, spruce and pine trees to nest in, most often found in old-growth forests. This is because they like to find large cavities in trees to nest in, and older trees have more natural holes in them. They like a tree to have plenty of dense foliage to protect themselves and their babies. Image taken in Central, FL on April 23, 2024 Camera: Sony Alpha 1 + FE 400mm f/2.8 GM. A series showing a food pass from a male to female Marsh Harrier at Sculthorpe Moor NR last week. It's a shame about the out of focus telegraph wires in the background but not much I could do as I was shooting from a hide and it happened very fast. Quite far away so quite heavy crop.

It's one of the best organised reserves I've been to with the entire site having timber boardwalks and large hides.
