What Do I Get if I Win?
I'm afraid now it's just the joy of taking park, but I will look into adding a special profile banner to winners profiles. In the past there have been vouchers for 1st and 2nd places, but we want to try and encourage people to enter without dangling a voucher code in front of them. Let's see if there's much of an impact this month!

How to Enter + Rules
  1. Post your entries in this thread by scrolling down to the reply box then hitting the 'upload images' button. Insert image as full not thumbnail.
  2. Sony cameras only.
  3. Camera metadata must be included in the images to verify.
  4. Only submit images taken in the current and previous two months) The date must be included in the image metadata.
  5. Only one photo entry per member.
  6. Keep the photos clean and family friendly.
  7. Please don't use sky replacements or AI image generation.
  8. You are free to change you image during the entry period.
  9. Not essential but it would be nice if you added a little background information on your entry.
How to Vote (when voting opens)
  1. Use the vote button (up arrow) to the right of the post (below post on mobile) to vote up images that you like
  2. You can vote on as many images as you like apart from your own
Upcoming Themes for 2024
Our themes for the year have already been decided to give you a heads-up on what's coming next.

Feedback
I'd really appreciate feedback about how the competition is running but please don't post it in this thread. Instead please post any feedback in this thread in the Feedback Forum.

Thank you for participating and good luck!

Saying goodbye to the Milky Way core for 2024. Western end of The Oaks beach near Cape Paterson. Foreground light painted with a single LED light panel at 25% power. The glow on the cliff sky line is from the lights at Cape Paterson.

Friends or Lovers?
I just posted this in the city scape thread, but then realised it was a good candidate for the 'After Dark' competition. Hope that's OK.

After covering over 6300km around the North and South Islands of New Zealand I have just less than a week to go, At the very start of my road trip I created this Auckland cityscape with the light trail leading us towards the city and the Sky Tower.

I took this in Sydney (obviously) when I was there recently. It was taken about half an hour after sunset when the super moon was rising next to the opera house. The blur is a rivercat ferry sailing into Circular Quay.

A big thanks to all who have entered this month, probably one of our more popular themes! Voting is now enabled.

A big thanks to everyone who entered and voted in this months competition. It was a popular theme with 16 entries. It would of been nice to see a few more voters though. I'll have to think about how we could try to encourage more people to vote going forward.

  • 1st place with 11 votes was @Loke with a splendid shot of the Aurora during a big solar storm. It certainly puts my feeble shot a couple of months back to shame!
  • 2nd place with 6 votes was @BrianN with a stunning Auckland cityscape featuring some awesome light trails.
  • Also in joint 2nd place with 6 votes was @Rhinodad with a great shot of the hunter's moon over Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. We are already counting down the years until our kids are old enough for a visit!
  • Another joint second this month with 6 votes was @MikeWPM with two beautiful giraffes in Etosha National Park, Namibia.
  • 3rd place with 5 votes was @DaveC Oz with a shot of the Milky Way core taken from the Western end of The Oaks beach near Cape Paterson, Australia.
  • Also in joint 3rd with 5 votes was @iamdlewis with a city shot of Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia. Thanks for providing a hint in the filename David, that saved me a lot of trouble :)

Well done everyone and thanks again for taking the time to enter.

December is here already and I'll be kicking off our festivities competition later today.

Yes my file names do tend to take the mystery out of things but for those that don't get the reference:
