Sony A9 III Best Auto focus option for a9m3 Concerts

I’ve been shooting live concerts and the half press shutter for auto focus slows down the bursts. When turning off the half press shutter for auto focus can anyone recommend the best way to keep using auto focus? Is it pressing the AF-On button while I’m pressing the shutter simultaneously? I’m shooting in auto focus continuous.

The AF-ON button certainly means you don’t have to hold your finger at half-press (turn off half-press, if you want).

You hold down AF-ON when you want it to focus. So yes.

If you use half press normally, it continues to focus while you hold down full-press to shoot a burst.
