Pets Dog Photography Thread - Post Your Dogs Here

One of my canine "nieces" 😅
Her name is Kingston and she hails from the northeast, dragging her dog-parents all over the forests of Massachusetts and Vermont.

This is Penny and I will say I love her. She is my dog when I visit the grandies and daughter.
She will listen to me over them due to the work I done with her early on.
I even came up with her name. But this is a great dog when grown up.

Great shots Afonso. Looks like he's having a lot of fun!

He was, and so was I.
He was chasing the ball, I was chasing Mark Galer ;-)

Edit: DEAF (Dog Eye Auto Focus) had a lot of trouble with this particular dog. (Drive: 15fps, AF: Zone Tracking)

Very cooperative/friendly dog owners every single time.
For non-running (jumping) dogs I still use the 7M3 with 135mm at 8fps (avoiding Hi+ 10fps 12bit deep territory and avoiding swapping lenses on the outdoors).

For action shots my standard gear is always A1/200-600 on tripod with gimbal head + 7M3/135GM handheld

Sigma 16mm 1.4 on an A6400. There is a bit of distortion here with his nose.....but I thought it was for good effect. It's a fabulous lens for apsc.

I have a Doxie...the nose distortion wont be an issue. (I'd be concerned if I had say a Pug, or a Pekingese...)

Thanks for the reply.

Usually when the dentist is checking your teeth, the dentist is standing over you and the patient is the one lying down.

This is Nellie, my sisters 80kg American Bulldog Cross. Big daft old lump she is. My sister asked me to take some shots for her last week.

My favorites are #1 and #7.
In #1 Nellie looks like a wise old grandma quietly watching the grand kids play at the public playground.
In #7 she reminds of what grandpa usually does... take a lot naps. :)
Nice shots!

Today my 135GM was complaining of having being relegated mostly to 7M3 duty and very jealous of seeing the 50GM sitting in its previous spot on the A1 most of the time, so to appease it I had to give it some A1 time and boy did it show off, this is a ~25% crop, AF was not even set to animal focus ...
GM prime glass on A1 is really a killer combo.

A series of a couple of playful pups. The whippet was having a great time zooming around & playing ‘jump the sausage’, not sure the Dachshund was overly impressed though!
