Caught this fellow in our garden tonight. He appears to be smiling.

That's a nice one, and yes it does look like its smiling!
How do you like that camera and lens combination? I should have purchased that lens instead of trying to be cheap and settling for the Tamron 70-300, which took a bit of practice to get the dragonfly photos I wanted: https://www.alphashooters.com/community/threads/dragonflies-revisited.9090/

I am really liking that lens. For that shot, I was at full zoom and stood about 7ft away. I could have gotten a bit closer, but did not want to scare the bug off. The image is cropped about 50% and there is still nice sharpness.
