Thank you! I love shooting abstracts, macros and closeups, and sometimes, yes, there is overlap there, especially when I use a lens wide-open and a very shallow DOF. With winter and cold weather now in the air, I'll be shooting a lot more of this type of thing for the next few months.

I forgot to trim the spent blooms off my orchid, and it surprised me with another round of flowers. Admittedly, fewer this time, but still surprising. This is the first one that opened.

I think in the future, I might try focus stacking on close-ups like that last shot.

Thank you! My Sony 90mm f/2.8 macro lens is absolutely one of my favorites and I use it frequently. I also love my fast Voigtlander lenses, too, as they seem to bring a special quality to any image I shoot with one. I enjoy putting a lens on the camera ad spending some time simply exploring a subject, usually the closer up the better. Occasionally I will also put a screw-on closeup lens on top of my 90mm macro, which really allows me to get even closer and, yes, also significantly narrows the DOF even more. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't, but when it does.....I'm really happy with the results. I love playing with color, too, seeing how that can affect an image, and so this last image really hit a lot of boxes for me. :)
