Tried this firmware update to Version 0.2 on my A7RV. But nothing worked. Sony hasn't provided any clear installation process, at least that I could fine. If anyone has successfully achieved this update, could you please share how you did it?

Thanks!

I updated both my 70-200 OSS II and 200-600. I just ran the update file after hooking my camera up through the USB-C port and selecting MSC mode. Then hit Next and wait until it gets to the next step following the directions in the program. When it is done the camera screen said to remove the battery. It takes a bit to recognize the version and move to the Check the Version screen. It then will tell you which version the lens has and what it will be updated to. Once you hit next it will show a progress bar and the camera screen should show update status. The camera will say Lens Update complete when done. I just downloaded and updated my Sigma 28-70 lens from Ver.02 to Ver.03 and it worked the same as will my Sony lenses.

Thanks GvilleRick. I tried another way and failed. Based upon a Mark Galer video, I tried the downloaded file "Web_MemoryCard_Update_SEL70200GM2V2D" which was saved to a freshly formated SDXC card. When I ran the Version Software Update, it could not find the file. I have done all my previous camera updates via the USB/Computer route as it looks like you did. I was just following the "new" firmware update model that was suppose to work with SD cards and therefore not requiring the use the computer. Guess I will go back and look at the download pages to see it I got the wrong file. Again thanks for the response.

Success! Ignoring what the Sony Ambassador suggested about using a SD card to update, I followed your suggestion and used the good old computer. Worked very well and only took a minute for the update. In fact it was so fast I thought I had done something wrong. Checked the Version and my 70-200 is now Version 0.2. Now all I have to do is see if it improved the IBIS performance. Again thanks Rick!

Update, I am shooting at 1/10 of handheld at 135-150mm and every shot but one has been tack sharp. This is going to be fun!

Thanks for the link. Just finished the 100-400. Now to see how well I can hold this beast at 1/10.
