Hello from Virginia!

Recovering Nikon addict here who just purchased an Apha 7CR – a very nifty piece of hardware! I’m looking forward to absorbing some of the forum’s collective wisdom!

Cheers!
Hi Craig, welcome to the forum. Looking forward to seeing your work. What do you shoot?

Thanks, everyone for the warm welcome!

For evacguy: Mostly wildlife and landscapes. My retirement is now close enough to start counting (2028) so photography will be a major activity once I no longer report to 'The Man'.... I'll be joining some of the local wildlife & birding groups for some weekend excursions to see what lies beyond my back yard. I used to be into astronomy, but arthritis now makes lifting/mounting heavy/expensive telescopes problematic. On that note, I would very much like to get to some darker skies and see what my A7CR can do with some extended exposures of the Milky Way. Finally, I want to stop taking 'snapshots' and force myself think about and compose my pictures - perhaps there's a story or new perspective to be told.

I reckon your A7CR would do really well. My wife & I are going down the coast here for a few days next week & that's what I'm hoping to do with my A7RV. Unfortunately, it's rising here in the east at the moment so that might make it a bit harder to find a good spot to set up. Wouldn't mind maybe giving Orion a go too if time permits.
